-this position is open to South Africa applicants only***REQUIRED HOURS: 3pm-11pm SAST*** The Role, Associate QA Engineer We are looking for an Associate QA Engineer in South Africa who is responsible for ensuring the high quality of our SaaS application portfolio. Our ideal candidate is knowledgeable and is always learning ways to improve their QA practices, excited about working with others on innovative applications using the best technologies available. We need someone who is resourceful in getting things done and ensuring the customers’ needs are protected.You should be comfortable working in a fully-remote scrum team environment to routinely deliver product releases. You should be self-motivated to learn new tools, test automation, and techniques to contribute to our evolving test automation practices. You should be excited to join a team with others that are just as passionate and eager to learn as you are! Your Most Important Initiatives: ● Develop an understanding of GoCanvas’ value to our customers to ensure that we protect existing customers’ use-cases from regressions while continuously expanding our product capabilities● Work within a scrum team and our QA guild to bring incremental improvements to our QA automation each sprint and to help scrum teams consistently meet high quality release goals● Become a quality champion within our scrum teams● Build a community of practice around test automation among QA and engineers to best use testing tools like Cypress in continuous integration (CI) environments● Help our engineering teams to achieve a confidence level that facilitates continuous delivery (CD)● Work with product managers to identify strategic areas for investment of testing coverage and appropriate testing strategies across multiple products● Participate in internal tech talks and be willing to learn and share knowledge with others What You Bring: You will need to wear many hats and be able to strategically meet quality goals within your scrum team to ensure product quality and support delivery. You should be excited to continuously learn new QA best practices, influence, and participate in a team. You are on your way to becoming a future expert in industry best practices.● 5+ years of software/ QA related experience● Self-learning skill sets and a desire to learn basic web programming, including those used by tools like Cypress● Excellent organization skills, demonstrated by staying on top of multiple tasks● Collaboration skills, working with team members of varying backgrounds, roles, and levels of experience● A good understanding of software development life cycle, preferably with experience working in scrum or agile● Knowledge or ability to quickly learn software testing methodologies and strategies for web and mobile applications● Strong oral and communication skills and the proven ability to teach complex information in an effective, engaging manner● A passion for learning new things and solving our customers problems What GoCanvas Brings: We believe culture eats strategy for breakfast and that hiring the right people is THE most important thing we do.
